Money exchange:
There are different ways of exchanging money, you can
change at banks, hotels, money exchange places and in
some avenues with authorized personnel, the most recommended
ways of exchanging money is going to exchange places
or banks, they don`t charge any type of comission for
making the exchange. In some bussineses related with
the touristic sector they generally accept american
dollars.
Currency:
The local currency is the Nuevo Sol, the coins that
are in circulation actually are of 0.05, 0.10, 0.20,

and they are affiliated to the principal credit cards
of the world. The banks attention schedule generally
goes from 09:30 to 18:00 in Lima; while in other cities
of the country it usually interrupts at noon for lunch
break.
Credit Cards:
Paying with credit cards is very frecuent; the most
used credit cards are: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
and Diners. With them it is possible to pay at most
Hotels, Airlines, supermarkets, restaurants and high
class bussineses. Therès generally no recharge.
Tips:
Generally people has the custom of giving tips in restaurants
for an amount of 5% or 10% of your total bill, to the
waiters and service perssonel; or you can give them
what you are usually accustomed, cab driver`s are not
accustomed of receiving tips.
